THE 15th GREAT FINALE OF GOCC GLASGOW – 14th January 2007

For the first time the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity played in Glasgow during the 15th Great Finale held on January 14th, 2007. A photography exhibition was organised in Gen. Wl. Sikorski’s Memorial-House between 12noon and 6pm, which was then followed by a concert and live auctions in Favela club (17 John Street), during which rock bands such as The Blimp, The Twisted Melons and Vancouver Deluxe, as well as DJ Preis, DJ B-Bang and DJ Alias played.

THE 16th GREAT FINALE OF GOCC GLASGOW – 13th January 2008

The finale concert for the 16th Great Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was hosted by the Classic Grand club. Guests from Poland added splendour to the event: the compere, Piotr ‘Makak’ Szarłacki, led the live auctions and two bands: Tilters with Tomek Lipiński and Wet Fingers duo (dj Adamus and Mafia Mike) performed on stage along with the Scottish group – The Nationals.

‘Orkiestrowe Anioły’ graphics (by Yach Paszkiewicz), GOCC mugs and t-shirts, delicatessen hampers, Celtic FC scarves, Artur Boruc’ sweatshirt, books, photographs and many, many more items were put for auction. Apart from 2375 PLN raised through Allegro website for the t-shirt donated by Celtic FC (with signatures of all the players), the Glasgow’s GOCC branch managed to raise 4190.81 GBP, 7.76 EUR, and 78.77 PLN, making a small but meaningful contribution to the overall sum of 13,521,862.40 USD raised in different cities all over the world for children with otolaryngological conditions.

AFTER A YEAR’S BREAK THE GREAT ORCHESTRA OF CHRISTMAS CHARITY IS COMING BACK TO GLASGOW!
THE 18TH GREAT FINALE OF GOCC GLASGOW WILL TAKE PLACE ON SUNDAY, 10TH JANUARY 2010.
AGAIN, THE CLASSIC GRAND CLUB (18 JAMAICA STREET) WILL KINDLY HOST THE EVENT – DOORS OPEN AT 4PM.
